What is the minimum investment required for the EB5 program?
The minimum investment amount for the EB5 program depends on the type of project. For petitions filed after March 15, 2022, the required minimum investment is $1,050,000 for standard projects and $800,000 for projects in a targeted employment area (TEA) or regional center-associated infrastructure projects. For petitions filed before March 15, 2022, the minimum investment was $1,000,000 for standard projects and $500,000 for projects in a TEA.
How long does it take to obtain a green card through the EB5 program?
As of March 2023, according to the US Department of State – Visa Bulletin, the EB5 visa wait time is current, meaning there is no backlog or retrogression. The estimated processing time for the I-526 petition ranges from 24 to 36 months. Upon approval, a temporary USA investment green card is issued to the investor.
Can my family also obtain green cards through my EB5 investment?
Yes, your spouse and unmarried children under 21 years of age are eligible to receive green cards through your EB5 investment.
